A quote from the Author:
“If I had known then what I now know about the lack of democracy and free speech in the West and how I would be treated. I would have stayed in Baghdad and taken a bullet from Uday, at least then I would have been buried in my country near my family.”

From The Publisher:
Latif Yahia has never attained citizenship from another country, still stateless since his flight from Iraq in 1992, he attributes this to the fact that he refused to work with intelligence services against his country. There should be a distinction made between Saddam and Iraq, being against the invasion of Iraq in 2003 did not mean that he was for Saddam, he opposed the war because he knew what it would do to the Iraqi people and the country as a whole and also who would be appoionted Iraq’s new leaders and what they too were capable of. At the beginning of the invasion, Latif Yahia warned the American led forces that ‘they may remove one Saddam but they would create one hundred and they may remove one Uday but make one hundred more’. This has been proved by recent events in Iraq.

After his flight from Iraq Latif Yahia was considered by Saddam and the regime to be a Traitor, now within the new government he is considered to be a collaborator. A no win situation.

Book Description:
In 1987, Latif Yahia was taken to Saddam’s headquarters to meet Uday, Saddam’s eldest son, and told that a great honour had been bestowed upon him: that because of the great likeness between them, he had been chosen to be Uday’s double. For many Iraqis it would have been the highlight of their lives, but for Latif, a peace-loving man who did not agree with Saddam’s brutal regime, it was not. He refused. Following a week of torture, and realising he would be killed if he continued to refuse, Latif was forced to accept the role. After a gruesome training programme during which he was made to watch over thirty films of torture, hours of tapes of Uday, and undertake a final remodelling of his appearance, Latif was deemed ready. But it was only after the final test, a meeting with Saddam himself, that Latif made his first public appearance. And so began his life as Uday’s double – a life on the perimeter of the inner circle of Saddam’s eldest son, a witness to the horror of his insane life of debauchery, excess and brutality, and an experience for which he almost paid with his life on more than one occasion. THE DEVIL’S DOUBLE,

is the first of 3 autobiographical books chronicling Latif Yahia’s incredible life-story. It vividly describes how Latif was forced to become Uday Hussein’s ‘fidai’ (body-double) and gives a unique insight into the extreme extravagance and cruelty of the Saddam regime. Latif survived assassination attempts and witnessed Uday’s psychotic temper, rapes, orgy parties, torture atrocities, and sadistic murders. The book has recently been made into a highly-acclaimed movie.

THE BLACK HOLE:
gives a fascinating account of what happened to Latif in Europe after he escaped from Iraq. How he was treated by western governments and the CIA. How Uday sought revenge on Latif and vice-versa. How he was offered a British passport by Saudis to murder a dissident and how they beheaded Latif’s Saudi princess lover. How Latif made and lost a fortune. How he strived in vain for a peaceful life and survived 4 more assassination attempts.

Forty Shades of Conspiracy:
brings Latif’s story right up to date by detailing his time in Ireland. His run-ins with drug-dealers, Corrupt Irish Garda officers and Irish politicians who continually denied him Irish citizenship. His despair as a beggar on the streets and the happiness he found after he met the love of his life. His reaction to Uday and Saddam’s deaths and his opinion on the current political situation in Iraq all makes fascinating reading.

Book Description:
is the next chapter in the extraordinary and chilling life story of author Latif Yahia. Having escaped the brutal Iraqi regime through Northern Iraq with the help of the CIA in 1992, Latif touched down in Austria. Having family in the pristine and picturesque city of Vienna, Latif is somewhat reassured that his life will be calmer now without Uday Saddam Hussein and his hedonistically violent lifestyle. Alongside Latif is Nusa, a hired girl, a plaything and ego boost for her Baghdadi clientele, although she has never been mentioned in Latif’s past works the reasons for her concealment become apparent as the story unfolds. Unfortunately life was never to become the idyll that Latif desired, his knowledge or perceived knowledge of the inner Iraqi regime was to become his saviour and his tormentor. This, left him chained and unable to move forward, as much as he wished to forget, his handlers wanted to know more. Latif became almost a prized item in the world of International Intelligence with nearly all of the world’s Intelligence agencies vying for his allegiance, his pleas for neutrality and normality unheard. Ultimately Latif was to pay the price for his uncooperative stance; ten and a half months were spent in a covert Austrian/CIA prison cell in solitary confinement, until by chance his freedom was assured by a visiting judge. One would think that after such events Latif’s life may take a quieter turn, this was not to be the case, the game of cat and mouse that played out across the breadth of Europe was interspersed by the tragic death of Latif’s beloved father, several assassination attempts and the murder of his first real love a Saudi Arabian Princess Latif Yahia’s previous books have sold over one million copies worldwide in twenty languages.

The Black Hole Reviews:
Review: 1
As an Investigatire journalist I am always interested in these true stories, I suppose I am sceptical of most. Having done some background work on the CIA, rendition flights and covert prisons, I am convinced that what this man has said in his book is true. It has long been the policy of the American administraion be it Bush’s or other, to deny first and then admit the truth, it will therefore not be too long, a year or so until everything contained in The Black Hole will be confirmed. I myself made a few enquiries to the Austrian government and the CIA with regards to this book, not surprisingly they made No Comment which in itself is an indication that they are aware of his existence. As for the author’s motives, well yes it is a great read and maybe he will sell a ton of books, but he seems to be donating his profits to a children’s hospital so maybe money isn’t the goal, maybe just to be heard is. —Austria News

Review: 2
An exceptionally well written book! Latif Yahia Really is becoming a IRAQI Institution, somebody for us to be proud of. Well balanced thoughtful, and giving a human touch to the most ghastly face of human kind, War Against CIA. Keep on writing Mr.Yahia, your insights are fresh, detailed, and full of insight. You never balk in pointing out the daft decisions made by politicians and the CIA, who obviously think that Joe Public will suck in and digest their propoganda without question. —Time USA

Review: 3
Black Hole: The True Story of CIA is a superb work of investigation and historical analysis into the shadowy world of CIA terrorism. In this work Mr.Yahia has stripped away the James Bond Supervillain image of USA and CIA, showing the roots of CIA twisted psychology in a radical reading of the USA history. This book and the world it uncovers is far more frightening than any thriller. A superb work, highly recommended. —The Time

Book Description:

The true story of the man who became the hangman for the most notorious prison in the world. Built originally in the early part of the 20th century, Abu Ghraib stood outside Baghdad as the general prison for the local population, it housed the petty thief and the rapist, the murderer and the politician. When Saddam Hussein took hold of Iraq he needed someone to help him in his bid to cleanse Iraq of it’s detritus, he needed someone to be his hangman. He found that man inside the walls of Abu Ghraib.
After the fall of Saddam in 2003 his employment continued with a new master and new duties, the CIA now gave him orders and his talents as a hangman were second only to his talents as a torturer. When the world’s eyes focused on Abu Ghraib and the atrocities committed there he found his means of escape, only then, could his story be told.
